Greenville, South Carolina
A short city break in the foodie destination of Greenville, South Carolina.
-

Kingswear and Devon
A return to Kingswear, across the estuary from Dartmouth. We explored coastal towns to the southwest this time, and enjoyed revisiting our favourite places in Dartmouth.
-

The Lake District
This trip was a mixed bag. The location in Keswick was convenient and central, but the parking was not onsite, and the space was too small for the vehicle. I ended up leaving Keswick and renting a different place in Ambleside. This is still our favourite town in the Lake District.

Buxton and Derbyshire
After a stunning drive across country, I was delighted with the location of what must be close to the best self-catering accommodation I have stayed at. I loved exploring Derbyshire’s Peak District, revisiting many of the places that were familiar from when we lived in Cheshire years ago.
-

Mundesley and North Norfolk
It was an interesting visit to a part of Norfolk that I have not explored before. The town of Holt was a highlight, as were exploring the coast and the Vicarage Gardens in East Ruston.
-

Beadnell, Northumberland
Beadnell is an interesting coastal town in Northumberland, one of my favourite counties. We explored both the coast and inland. The only disappointment was a shortage of nice restaurants, but the smokehouse in Seahouses had some tasty treats to take home.

Boating on the Canals and Rivers of England and Wales
The rest of the story (so far) of our explorations of the canals and rivers of England and Wales. We will be back!

Boating on the Canals and Rivers of England and Wales
This is the story of how we came to love spending time on the waterways of Britain. Part one starts with our first trip on a “big pig” on the Thames, and goes on to describe the first trips on narrowboats.
